The Cool Kids shot out the Cannon
by Tyler on Aug.27, 2009, under Music
Chuck, Mikey, and Don Cannon went out on a fishing trip all summer and this is what they pulled in, awesome mixtape. A sweet laid-back summer feel housing 21 tracks. I like number 2, Hammer Bros.
“Where you at?, Just let it bang like hammers in your hat.”

Gaia 09 Icon Set

Dope icons from *imrik for Gaia 09. Check out the project to warn people about the climate change.
“Two years ago a community of active and dedicated members came together to start a project with the aim to raise awareness for climate change. How though? The idea was to pick up the visitors at their current vantage point. And that is the interest in an appealing and innovative interface for their operating system.”
They also have some great wallpapers.

Braca Burazeri is run by Nikola Radojčić and Nenad Radojčić in Yugoslavia. They have some cool flyers. I really like the November Rain text. The umbrella reminds me of my logo. The illustrations are definitely worth looking at too.

OUCH!
DBTY is a label, a blog, and an international dj-crew consisting of ten members from Stockholm and Bretagne. We mix, produce and remix Baltimore, fidgit-house and juke with the purest passion.
Check out their DJs. They got some really good remixes. Nothing like some good guys from Stockholm remixing Baltimore Club music and Baile Funk. Keep it going.
Band Members include: Vem’detta, Gardendwarf, Tinkiet, Super F, Hollydjee, Sisqou, Mell-B, Lenny Drama
Their blog is awesome too…
Günther Kieser
by Tyler on Aug.12, 2009, under Graphic Design

Günther Kieser is a great poster designer. I love posters because it needs to convey a strong message to catch someones eye. Kieser is a German designer born in 1930 and contributed a lot to the music movement in the 60s. His Miles Davis poster reminds me of the Bob Dylan poster by Milton Glaser. Loving the colors.

Matei Apostolescu is a freelance illustrator living in Bucharest, Romania, EU. He uses a lot of colors and details in his works that gives it a flowing feel. Good text too, looks like the 60s posters.

I have always been a huge fan of brazilain art. The Tropicalia art movement is by far my favorite. The colors, shapes, and images that they use are unique to any other. Mecca style forms, repetition and color are Brain Marconi’s speailty.
